When competition becomes growth: a conversation with Walter Renna

Fastweb, STEP FuturAbility District Piazza Adriano Olivetti 1 MILANO

“Nothing makes you grow like an opponent. Because by constantly striving to give your best and outdo each other, you both become better.”

Over 25 million customers, market shares of 26% and 31%, and revenues of around €1.8 billion: these are the first key figures of Fastweb+Vodafone, just months after the January 2025 merger that united two of Italy’s leading telecommunications networks into a single technological ecosystem, already recognized for its advanced connectivity and digital services.
In this session, participants will have the opportunity to engage with a leader who has experienced firsthand the evolution of a sector in constant motion — moving from the competition between major players to the creation of a single, forward-looking force.

After leading Fastweb through a phase of strong digitalization and sustainability, Walter Renna, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Fastweb+Vodafone, now oversees the new organization with the goal of combining the strengths of both companies. As his career demonstrates, competition can be the engine of growth — and great transformations happen only when talent, technology, and vision work together.

Through his testimony, participants will be able to:
• Discover how collaboration can emerge from competition, transforming differences into shared strengths.
• Understand the importance of shared innovation as a driver for collective growth and lasting value.
• Become agents of change with vision, trust, and responsibility — to lead transformation and be part of it.

Further details to follow.
